Tell me, tell me, smiling child,
What the past is like to thee?
“An Autumn evening soft and mild
With a wind that sighs mournfully.”Tell me, what is the present hour?
“A green and flowery spray
Where a young bird sits gathering its power
To mount and fly away.”And what is the future, happy one?
“A sea beneath a cloudless sun;
A mighty, glorious, dazzling sea
Stretching into infinity.”emily brontë, past, present, future.

THE
ANECDOTE
REMAINS
A-LB et M-SA
2000. Her birth. They were all together to welcome an addition to their growing household. Everyone was excited to see the youngest la demoiselle Aubert-LeBeau, second to her mère.2002. Bestest birthday gift ever! Hairloom? Héritaszh? I couldn't pronounce the word and that's how it sounded like to me. There were two things and I remembered what they looked like. The first one was just a piece of paper with text written on it but mère and père told me to not hand it to anyone even if we're family. The second one was the most interesting! It was both a music box when you insert a key and turn it twice; and once you open it, the box releases a fragrant mist.
2004. (trigger warning: implication of guns) It almost never rains in Bordeaux on an August. I remember ma mère teaching me the phrase for what happened to my family—an accident waiting to happen. Everyone in the mansion was frantic. It was noisy everywhere, and foggy too. I smelled burning. . and gunpowder. Ma père told me to stay down so I did--until I passed out.2004. The orphanage. They were all so so nice even though I struggled to utter a word. The head of the orphanage even gave me a name—Naiara—because even though I knew who I am, when I open my mouth no words nor sounds came out. I think this one's called trauma, according to mère. Although, I could still remember what happened that night. It was so vivid that I even have nightmares because of it.2009. Kyoto, was it? The family that adopted me flew me to a different place; said I must stay far from France, far from them. I was confused at first but I grasped the situation eventually. We went back and forth to the Philippines because of my adoptive mother's—mama, she insists—job.
2015. I only realized now that the that music box they gave me contained celui de ma mère et de mon père most treasured passion and profession. I could no longer read what was in the piece of paper because I am not as proficient in French as I was when I was little.2019. I didn't know that it's possible to have two adoptive families--until I had them. The family was Spanish and we often travelled to Espanya and stay in our manor.

HAVE YOU SEEN THEM HER?
Mallory Genavié Aubert-LeBeau haunts as the phantom of the woeful past.
Those who haunt are not always horrifying. Most times they just need validation in their existence . . . and perhaps saving saving too.
Naiara Mochizuki Sol Amancio is on the blissful state of nescience.
she who likes not knowing and not being told on what to do; ignorance is truly a bliss. ignorance from what is about to happen and from what has happened.
The Unknown, the vision from the obsucre future.
Ever believed strongly in something you've never even seen in person ?

clarabella. ???
amaranth paige. ???relationships up for grabs!
kay-oble-ang-sisi duo. you can never survive college alone, even if you prefer doing things on your own. that's how you became naiara's official go-to friend when it comes to academics because she knows you'll relate best.
childhood bestfriend. you were only a child and understood a little about the reality of life but one time you saw naiara weeping by the swing in the orphanage and you hurriedly to comfort her and since then you were inseparable from each other until she had to leave for adoption.
older sibling. blood is thicker than water, they say. but what if all the blood had dried out and all that's left is a droplet of water that never ever disappears? you were the first person naiara ever trusted since she came to the orphanage. you knew how important that trust is and never have you betrayed her nor will you ever.
